Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

What is the organization aiming to accomplish?

Our primary goal is to ensure that women, particularly members of Alpha Omicron Pi, are prepared to become successful at whatever endeavor they choose. Focusing on developing strong, well-rounded leaders who can make a difference in their communities and throughout the world is at the forefront. Using education, training, and providing experiential opportunities to develop their skills. Additionally, we want to address the leading cause of disability in the US, Arthritis, to not only improve the lives of those affected by the disease, but work to find a cure.

What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?

-The Foundation fosters opportunities for sisters to develop and mature as leaders in their communities by:
• Exercising seamless, ongoing collaboration and communication across AOII leadership
• Identifying, recruiting and developing sisters for volunteer roles
• Celebrating and recognizing accomplishments
-The Foundation provides our members with opportunities to serve one another and the greater society by:
• Ensuring alignment with the Fraternity’s values and mission
• Enriching our members’ lives through education, physical and mental health, financial literacy and social responsibility
-The Foundation cultivates and stewards donors for the lifetime of their membership by:
• Gathering and telling engaging stories that compel giving
• Creating the road map to financial viability with strategic donor pipeline development from collegiate to planned giving
-Be a catalyst for developing and promoting innovative initiatives to advance the Fraternity
Be recognized as thought-leader

What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?

Our reach across the US and Canada is broadened by AOII's collegiate and alumnae chapters and our 165,000+ members. Our connection with the Greek Fraternal community allows our message to be shared further.

What have they accomplished so far and what's next?

The AOII Foundation has just begun a new strategic plan to help move our organization to a new level of success for those we serve. Over the past 40 years, we have grown from a part-time staff person with limited financial resources, to a full-time development staff managing more that $8 million in assets, with a broad range of opportunities for our donors to make a difference. We pride ourselves on being good stewards of the gifts we receive and strive to maximize the outcomes of our program funding.
